Google has introduced a new update to its Find Hub app on Android, adding the support for map layers. This enhancement improves navigation by allowing users to choose from different map types, including Satellite and Terrain, alongside the Default view.
Version and Features
The update is available with version 3.1.485-2 of the Find Hub app. A floating action button (FAB) under the account switcher simplifies switching map types. Besides Default, users can select Satellite, Terrain, or Traffic views, aiding navigation, especially when locating a lost device.
Usage and Limitations
Map types can only be selected from the main map interfaces such as Devices or People. This feature is not available when a specific device is selected. While the update is being pushed widely, complete server-side functionality is yet to reach all users.
