Google has rolled out an update to its Find Hub app, version 3.1.458, adding a Distance units setting and expanding the list of compatible devices.
New Distance Units Feature
The update introduces a new Distance units setting, allowing users to choose between Metric, US, and UK units or use a default setting. This feature is particularly beneficial for precise ultra-wideband (UWB) enabled tracking, especially when traveling between different regions.
Users can access this setting by opening the Find Hub app, tapping the profile icon, selecting Settings, and then choosing Distance units. This enhancement provides greater flexibility for users looking to customize their experience based on geographic needs.
Expanded Device Compatibility
The update also broadens the list of compatible devices, now including products from Chipolo, Pebblebee, MiLi, Motorola, and Rolling Square. Users can filter compatible devices by Tracking Tags, Headphones and Speakers, and Embedded Tracking. This expansion supports Google’s ongoing effort to incorporate more third-party devices into its ecosystem, enhancing usability across a wider range of tech products.
The update is being distributed gradually, having been initially identified by 9to5Google. This move reflects Google's commitment to continually enhancing tracking precision and user experience.
