Google has launched a significant redesign of its Voice Search feature on Android devices, modernizing the interface for enhanced usability. The update, first noticed in experiments last year, is now being deployed to more users via the stable Google app version 17.1 and the beta version 17.2.
Interface Enhancements
The revamped interface showcases a large Google G logo positioned prominently at the top center when Voice Search activates. The former sphere animation is replaced with text options: Play, Sing, Hum. An arc featuring four colors beneath the face illustration mirrors AI Mode and Search Live features.
- The Search a song button has been made larger.
- A new shortcut to the Song Search history is included.
- A new menu on the right edge offers settings for Voice Search, including language and voice selection.
Access and Updates
Users can initiate Voice Search from the homescreen widget or any Google Search bar within the app. To experience this redesign, ensuring the Google app is updated to the most recent version is recommended. The rollout aims to reach a wider audience across stable and beta release channels.
