Nintendo Store Launches Mobile App for iOS and Android

07 Nov 2025

The Nintendo Store has launched a new mobile app for iOS and Android, providing a dedicated storefront for tracking and purchasing games on the Nintendo Switch and other consoles. Released unexpectedly on Tuesday, users can now log into their Nintendo account, maintain wishlists, and browse sales directly from their mobile devices.

App Features and Limitations

The app offers a unique feature to view play history on Nintendo consoles. Users can track hours spent per game and view individual session lengths by calendar day after logging in. One limitation, however, is that purchases redirect to the Nintendo website within a built-in browser, rather than completing transactions within the app.

Market Positioning

This new app positions Nintendo alongside competitors like PlayStation and Xbox, which have long provided full mobile storefronts. Although the app doesn't yet support in-app purchases, it streamlines the process by eliminating the need to open a separate browser for purchases.
