Pebble App Returns to Play Store, Enhances Watch Experience

21 Oct 2025

Pebble's companion app has made a comeback on both the Google Play Store and Apple App Store. The app, compatible with all Pebble smartwatch models, marks a significant return for the brand, renowned for affordable, long-lasting wearable technology.

App Features and Compatibility

The revitalized app supports popular Pebble models like Pebble 2 Duo and Pebble Time 2. It offers access to 10,000 customizable watchfaces and 2,000 applications. However, not all old watchfaces and apps are operational, and synchronization for Pebble health data is not yet available.

The app's presence in major app stores marks its first re-release since Pebble's acquisition by Fitbit in 2016 and the subsequent ownership transfer to Google. Google's involvement includes open-sourcing Pebble's software, which is now available on GitHub.

Community and Open-Source Initiatives

In addition to the official app, community projects like Rebble continue to support Pebble's ecosystem. PebbleOS devices such as the Core Time 2 feature modern technologies including a 1.5-inch color e-paper touchscreen and heart rate monitoring, maintaining Pebble's promise of extensive battery life at an economical price.

Downloadable from the Google Play Store and Apple App Store, the companion app offers Pebble users improved access to features that defined their smartwatches' popularity. Although some elements remain under development, Pebble's return is promising for long-time fans and budget-conscious wristwear enthusiasts.
