ColorOS 16 Streamlines App Navigation

12 Nov 2025

ColorOS 16 introduces a streamlined app drawer to enhance user experience on Android devices. Users now benefit from a search bar located at the bottom and alphabetized sorting, allowing quick access to apps by simply tapping a letter.

Navigation Enhancements

The new app drawer in ColorOS 16 permits users to find apps faster. By tapping on an alphabet, users are presented with all apps starting with that letter without the need to scroll. This change returns the user to the home screen upon exiting an app, improving navigation fluidity.

Compared to Google's implementation on Pixel foldables, ColorOS 16's design is praised for its smooth performance and convenience.

Auto-Categorization Feature

Alongside the improved app drawer, ColorOS 16 includes an auto-categorization feature. This automatically organizes apps into folders via a separate Categories pane, which can be optionally used by the user.

These developments offer a modern, optimized interface and may provide a competitive edge for OPPO in the Android market, as suggested by user feedback.
