Malwarebytes Achieves 100% Stalkerware Detection Rate

08 Nov 2025

Malwarebytes excelled in a recent stalkerware detection test, achieving a 100% detection rate, setting itself apart from competitors. This test highlighted different mobile security products' performances in identifying stalkerware.

Detection Test Results

While Malwarebytes detected all stalkerware cases, Bitdefender, ESET, Kaspersky, and McAfee each scored 94%. Avast, Avira, and F-Secure identified 88% of the test cases. In contrast, Norton and Sophos managed about 82%. Notably lower were G Data with 65%, Trend Micro with 59%, and Google's products at 53%.

Stalkerware Detection Importance

For Malwarebytes, achieving a perfect score is more than a technical achievement. As a member of a coalition against such software, the company views this as critical for user safety. Stalkerware is used for invasive privacy violations by abusers. Reliable detection is essential for safe reporting and user safety.

Commitment to Privacy and Safety

Malwarebytes' success underscores years of development emphasizing user privacy. The company collaborates with partners and survivor organizations to enhance public awareness and foster safer technology. Earning a 100% detection rate reaffirms its dedication to user security, raising standards across the industry.
