Samsung Expands One UI 6.1.1 to More Galaxy Devices, Enhances App Streaming

One UI 6.1.1 Enhances App Streaming Experience for Samsung Users

Currently, One UI 6.1.1 is exclusively available on the newly launched Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6, with Samsung poised to expand its reach to a broader array of Galaxy devices in the near future. As anticipation builds, tipsters and developers are unveiling a series of intriguing enhancements within this latest update. One standout improvement is the streamlined process for linking smartphones to Windows PCs for app streaming.

Streaming Apps Using Link to Windows is More Seamless in One UI 6.1.1

Microsoft’s “Link to Windows” serves as a bridge between Android devices and Windows PCs, offering a free application that fosters seamless interoperability. Once established, users can effortlessly manage text messages, initiate calls, and control media playback directly from their PCs. Certain brands, notably Honor and Samsung, have partnered with Microsoft to provide enhanced functionalities within this tool.

For Samsung users, One UI 6.1.1 introduces a significant enhancement that simplifies the app streaming experience. As reported by Android Authority, Galaxy devices equipped with this update no longer require users to grant permission on their phone’s screen each time they initiate an app stream to a Windows PC. Previously, this repetitive action could be cumbersome for frequent users. Now, the permission must only be accepted once during the initial setup, although the phone must remain unlocked for security purposes.

Samsung is Bringing Back the Original Behavior of the Feature

This return to a more user-friendly permission process harkens back to the feature’s original functionality. The introduction of additional security measures in Android 14 had necessitated the repeated permission requests, which could disrupt the user experience. Samsung’s recent adjustments restore the previous convenience, enhancing the overall usability of the feature.

As the rollout of One UI 6.1.1 continues, many Galaxy device owners await their turn to experience these improvements. Reports suggest that Samsung has even postponed the One UI 7 beta indefinitely, prioritizing the deployment of 6.1.1 to a wider selection of eligible devices.
