Gemini Mobile Expands With New Document Creation Tools

26 Aug 2025

In a bid to enhance productivity and creativity, Google's Gemini app is set to introduce a range of new features on its mobile platform, previously accessible only on the web. The latest update, version 16.31.75.sa.arm64, brings the interactive Canvas feature to the Gemini mobile beta, offering users the ability to transform documents into dynamic webpages, infographics, quizzes, and more.

Expanding Capabilities

The inclusion of the Canvas feature marks a significant enhancement for Android users, who had previously missed out on much of the functionality available in the web version of Gemini. Utilizing the new Create button within the app allows users to explore a plethora of options including Web page, Infographic, Quiz, Audio Overview, and Something Else, offering a robust toolkit for creating engaging and interactive content.

While the Create button opens a door to exciting possibilities, it's worth noting that some of these features may take longer to load depending on the device's hardware. Among these, the Audio Overview tends to be notably slow, suggesting that performance improvements could be addressed in future updates.

Convenience and Accessibility

One of the standout advantages of the Gemini mobile expansion is the convenience it brings. Although the Canvas tools have been accessible via mobile browsers, integrating them directly into the app streamlines the user experience, making it easier and quicker for users to leverage Gemini's capabilities on-the-go.

Given that Canvas and its features are free on both web and mobile platforms, users can explore and create limitless interactive content. However, continuous and advanced usage may require a subscription to Google AI Pro or Ultra, which provide enhanced functionalities.

Future Prospects

Launched in March, Canvas quickly became a tool favored for improving drafts, reviewing code, and crafting interactive experiences across various formats like quizzes, webpages, and even apps. As the mobile adaptation unfolds, there is keen anticipation among users for the full suite of Canvas features to become widely available. However, Google has not yet provided an official timeline for the complete rollout to all mobile applications.

As technology evolves, the integration of advanced tools like Canvas into mobile apps exemplifies the ongoing trend towards increased interactivity and productivity. Google's step to integrate Canvas into Android apps reflects a growing commitment to making creativity universally accessible, ensuring that whether on a desktop or a mobile device, users can freely express and innovate.
