WhatsApp has introduced a new feature for iOS users allowing the simultaneous use of two accounts. This feature is included in the iOS beta version 25.34.10.72.
Functionality and Integration
Users can now activate a second account in Settings alongside their primary one. The switch between accounts is seamless and doesn't require restarting the app or logging in again. Each account operates independently with its own chat history, backup settings, notification configurations, and privacy preferences.
An improved switch method is introduced, allowing users to double-tap the Settings tab for faster account switching. Additionally, a new 'Account List' option enables the addition of a second account, which involves signing in with a phone number and a verification code. Existing WhatsApp Business accounts can also be integrated.
Testing and Rollout
The feature is currently in testing with users registered for Apple's TestFlight and is expected to be available to a broader audience soon. Notifications show messages for both accounts and indicate the recipient account.
