The latest update to Black Ops 7 Zombies mode includes powerful field upgrades, adding strategic depth to gameplay. In addition to five returning upgrades, the game introduces Toxic Growth, a new defensive enhancement that creates a thorny barricade, inflicting toxic damage and slowing enemies.
Toxic Growth and Enhancements
Toxic Growth allows up to three deployments that block doorways and hinder enemy movement. Major augments such as Urticant enhance its area and slow duration, while Cordyception charms the first enemy. Minor augments like Ankle Shredder increase slow, and Plant Food offers healing fruit drops.
Other Field Upgrades
- Dark Flare: A shadow-damage beam with augments like Extension for longer duration and Muzzle Blast for extra damage.
- Healing Aura: Heals allies, with Resilience speeding up regeneration, and Persistence preserving perks for revived players.
- Frenzied Guard: Repairs armor and redirects enemy attacks. Phalanx allows allies' armor to repair from kills.
- Energy Mine: Explodes repeatedly near foes, with Scatter splitting it into multiple mines for wider impact.
- Aether Shroud: Renders the user invisible with Group Shroud cloaking nearby allies and Afterimage creating decoys.
These field upgrades, loaded with both major and minor augments, provide essential options for defending, attacking, and supporting teammates. Their introduction offers a modest but meaningful enhancement to player strategy within Black Ops 7 Zombies.
