Microsoft has released Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 26220.7859 to the Beta Channel, bringing several enhancements and fixes for users.
New and Improved Features
The latest build introduces an option for Microsoft 365 Family subscribers to upgrade their plans directly from the Accounts page in Settings. This feature can be disabled by turning off suggested content.
Improvements include enhanced reliability for displaying app icons in the system tray when the taskbar is set to autohide. File Explorer now resolves an issue where windows and tabs might unexpectedly jump to the Desktop or Home.
Enhanced File Sharing and Settings
Nearby Sharing sees improved reliability for sending larger files, enhancing user experience in file transfers. Additionally, configuring options in Settings under Bluetooth & Devices > Wheel has become more reliable.
Insider Program Details
These updates are part of Windows 11, version 25H2, and are rolled out using Controlled Feature Rollout technology. Initially available to a subset of Insiders, features will expand over time. Users can opt to receive updates earlier by enabling the toggle in Settings > Windows Update. Note that some features may change or be removed before general release.
