Microsoft has released the November 2025 Patch Tuesday updates for Windows 11 versions 25H2 and 24H2. This update introduces a redesigned Start menu and various improvements targeted mainly at Copilot+ PC users.
New Features for Copilot+
With this update, Copilot+ PC users benefit from enhanced Click-to-Do functionality, which now includes on-screen text translation and unit conversion options. Additionally, File Explorer gains quick action features, such as 'Open file location' and 'Ask Copilot', when hovering over files in Home.
Voice Access has been improved with FluidDictation which offers real-time punctuation, grammar checks, and handling of filler words. Windows Search now includes semantic search capabilities for a more intuitive user experience on Copilot+ PCs.
Redesigned Start Menu and Taskbar
The Start menu has been updated with a scrollable All section featuring a category and grid view. It also adapts to different display sizes. A new Phone Link integration provides a side panel for better mobile device connectivity.
Taskbar enhancements include informative battery icons that change color based on charging status or battery health. The percentage display is a new feature that also extends to the lock screen.
Security and Fixes
Microsoft has added a preview security control called Administrator Protection, accessible via Windows Security, Microsoft Intune, or Group Policy. The update also introduces fixes for Task Manager issues and low-power state discrepancies in gaming handhelds.
Some features have been delayed. File Explorer's recommended files for Microsoft account users and third-party cloud storage integration will be rolled out later.
