The Windows 11 November 2025 (25H2) update introduces a larger Start menu, making it nearly twice as tall.
Redesign Details
The updated Start menu now covers about 90% of the screen height. With Phone Link enabled, it can fill the entire screen. Pinned apps are at the top, followed by recommended content and a page for all apps. This page offers views: category, compact grid, or classic list.
Customization Options
Users can adjust the menu to show more pinned apps and hide recommendations. There's an option to display frequently used or recently installed apps. However, reverting to the previous menu design isn't available.
Display Implications
On lower-resolution screens, the menu stretches nearly to the top edge, while appearing more balanced on 4K displays. The update, identified as KB5068861, is rolling out gradually.
