Microsoft has unveiled the Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 27919 for Canary channel users, introducing updates aimed at improving the Windows Search experience. The most notable change is the reorganization of Search settings inside Settings under Privacy & security > Search, presenting a cleaner layout focused on usability.
Enhancements and Fixes
The build also fixes several bugs, including a File Explorer crash when opening the digital signatures tab, and input method issues affecting Microsoft Changjie and various phonetic keyboards used for languages such as Hindi and Marathi.
Known Issues
Known issues remain. Canary channel users, especially on Copilot+ PCs, may lose Windows Hello PINs and biometric setups (error 0xd0000225). A visual bug can render the progress wheel as a rectangle glyph during upgrades, Group Policy Editor may show new error pop-ups, and an issue related to dao360.dll can cause some apps to crash.
Additional Notes
Remote Desktop may default to a single monitor, and widgets could stop working after upgrading. Microsoft is collecting feedback to address these issues in future builds.

What to expect and recommended actions
If you are in the Canary channel, consider backing up credentials and biometric settings before upgrading. Test the build in non-critical environments if possible. For developers and IT admins, monitor for the dao360.dll crashes and the Group Policy Editor errors and report reproducible issues to Microsoft via the Feedback Hub.
Looking ahead
Microsoft plans further refinements. While Search setting improvements are welcome, stability remains the primary concern for insiders until the known issues are resolved. Keep an eye on subsequent preview releases for fixes and additional features.
