Double Commander is an open-source, dual-pane file manager designed for power users who need fast, keyboard-driven workflows on Windows and Android devices. It blends a classic orthodox layout with modern conveniences so you can manage files, archives and folder trees more efficiently. The interface is highly customizable: adjust layouts, assign hotkeys, use a built-in text editor with syntax highlighting, and compare files side by side. Advanced tools include multi-rename, batch operations, archive support and plugin compatibility that adapts to different workflows and preferences. Getting started is straightforward on Windows: download double commander from the official site, run the installer and configure your panels. For Android builds or rooted environments, experienced users may run double commander as root to access system folders. Check a double commander review to compare alternatives and decide if its dual-pane workflow and customization meet your needs.

Double Commander is quite good! I love the tabbed browsing for easy access to folders. Occasional bugs here and there, but they’re not game-changing. Still, I’d like a little more polish. Overall, a decent app!

I’ve been using Double Commander for a while now, and I like it a lot! The customization options are super helpful. It can be a bit slow sometimes, but overall, it’s a great file manager that I would recommend.

Double Commander has some really cool features! The dual-pane layout is definitely a plus, but I sometimes run into lag when handling large files. Overall, it’s decent, but I feel it could be more optimized.
