This unintended behavior began after a silent update was deployed on 2025-10-16. PowerToys misapplied a feature designed to alter themes based on local time or sunrise/sunset schedules.

To mitigate this issue, affected users can manually turn off Light Switch by navigating to PowerToys, selecting System Tools, and disabling the feature.
