Notability, a popular note-taking app, is set to launch a beta version for Android in April 2026, marking a significant expansion from its traditional Apple platform focus. This development aims to broaden its user base by offering Android-specific features and enhancements.
New Features and Enhancements
The upcoming Android beta will introduce features tailored for Android users, such as lock screen note shortcuts. Notability's existing features, including audio recording with transcription, shape and handwriting recognition, and document import, will also be part of the beta. Additionally, the app will feature AI-powered Notability Learn, notes export, and advanced drawing tools.
Integration and Accessibility
Notability recently launched a full web client, enabling users to access notes created on iOS, iPadOS, or macOS across platforms. This web client supports live recordings, transcripts, file uploads, editing, and markup tools, all synced via Notability Cloud. Users can try the web client for free and sign up for the Android beta on Notability's website.
Market Expansion
By entering the Android market, Notability aims to compete with both simpler apps like Google Keep and more complex tools like Notion. The app's balance of features, including stylus, mouse, and keyboard support, is expected to attract a diverse range of users seeking a comprehensive note-taking solution.
