Supergiant Games has released the first patch for Hades 2, focusing on revamping its ending sequence. The update addresses player feedback about the game's conclusion being less satisfying, adding context with new events, artwork, and voice lines before and after the end. There are also revisions to the scenes leading up to the finale, aimed at delivering a compelling narrative closure.
Changes to the Ending
The narrative adjustment in Hades 2 involves more Underworld clears required to reach the revamped ending. Supergiant Games has enriched this part of the game with additional scenes to enhance player satisfaction. For those who have already seen the original ending, the new cauldron incantation offers a revisit to explore the updates.
Balance and Gameplay Adjustments
Alongside narrative changes, the patch includes significant gameplay refinements. The Phantom mini-boss has been nerfed, and tweaks were made to the final boss for improved balance. Furthermore, the patch brings an array of balance adjustments: 11 boons and blessings saw major buffs, while Gigaros Dash was nerfed. Additional changes affect keepsakes, Daedalus Hammer upgrades, enemies, and special encounters.
Availability and Future Plans
Currently, the Hades 2 patch is available for players in its beta version. The full release date has yet to be announced.
