Adobe has expanded its offerings for Windows computers powered by ARM-based processors, introducing Premiere Pro to users of Copilot+ PCs. This addition follows the recent beta release of Illustrator for Windows on ARM, marking a significant step in Adobe’s commitment to enhancing its Creative Cloud suite for this emerging platform.

However, there is an important distinction to note. Unlike its counterparts, Photoshop and Illustrator, which now operate natively on ARM, Premiere Pro currently relies on Microsoft’s emulation layer. While Microsoft asserts that the emulation experience has improved with the introduction of the first Copilot+ PCs, users should be aware that this means Premiere Pro will not deliver the same performance levels as it does on Intel or AMD-based systems.
Interestingly, Adobe had initially aimed to launch Premiere Pro for Windows on ARM back in July, but that timeline did not come to fruition. Nonetheless, the availability of an emulated version is a welcome development, especially considering that running Premiere Pro in any capacity was not an option until now.
To install Premiere Pro on your Windows on ARM device, simply navigate to the Creative Cloud app and select “Install” next to the application, provided you have an active subscription. According to reports from Windows Central, Premiere Pro performs reasonably well when emulated on Snapdragon X-based computers. This means that for most users, particularly those not engaged in heavy or high-resolution editing, the experience should be satisfactory. For those requiring more robust capabilities, the latest beta of DaVinci Resolve, which is fully ARM-native, may be a more suitable alternative.
