Developer Respawn has made a surprising U-turn on the changes it had planned for the battle pass in Apex Legends. In a tweet, the studio acknowledged that it could have handled the tweaks better, following a significant backlash from players.
New System for Business Model
The new system for the business model will now allow players to earn the battle pass by completing tasks in the first half of the season, with the option to purchase it with in-game currency in the second half.
Respawn stated, “You’ve spoken, and we’ve listened. With the release of Season 22, we will restore the ability to get the Premium Battle Pass for 950 Apex Coins. We recognize that we could have handled the Battle Pass changes better – that’s on us.”
Commitment to Improvement
The studio also promised to be more timely, transparent, and consistent in the future, addressing concerns such as cheaters, game stability, and quality of life updates. Respawn emphasized that player priorities are their priorities, and they are committed to improving in these areas.
