Ubisoft CEO Plans to Release More Assassin's Creed Games Regularly
Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot recently revealed that the company is aiming to release new Assassin's Creed games more frequently in the future. Among these releases, remakes of older games will also be included.
Ubisoft has faced challenges with remakes in the past. The Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remake has been in development limbo for four years, while the Splinter Cell remake, announced in 2021, has seen little progress.
In a promotional interview, Guillemot mentioned that there are rich worlds in some of the older Assassin's Creed games that could be explored through remakes. While he did not specify which games are being considered, titles like Black Flag, the first Assassin's Creed, and the Ezio trilogy are potential candidates.
Over the years, the Assassin's Creed franchise has experienced both successes and setbacks. Ubisoft's shift away from annualized releases has led to stronger games like Origins and Valhalla. Guillemot emphasized the importance of releasing new games regularly while ensuring each offers a unique experience.
While rumors of a Black Flag remake circulate, the upcoming release of Assassin's Creed Shadows on November 15 has fans eagerly anticipating the future of the franchise.
