Steam's Weekly Highlights
In the competitive realm of gaming, pre-orders for the highly anticipated Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 have surged, positioning it as the second highest-grossing title on Steam last week. This remarkable ascent can be attributed to the recent beta rollout that commenced on August 30th, propelling the game six spots higher in the rankings. With a launch date set for October 25th, excitement continues to build among fans.
Leading the charge once again is Black Myth: Wukong, which has maintained its status as the top seller on Steam for the second consecutive week since its release. Meanwhile, Counter-Strike 2 experienced a slight decline, dropping one position to secure the third spot.
In a noteworthy shift, pre-orders for Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 have climbed three positions to fourth place, just ahead of its impending launch on September 9th. This surge has placed it above popular titles such as PUBG: Battlegrounds and the Steam Deck, which both fell two spots, landing in fifth and seventh, respectively.
Returning to the spotlight is Risk of Rain 2, which has re-entered the Top Ten at sixth place, thanks to the release of its new expansion, Seekers of the Storm. Additionally, Hogwarts Legacy has made a comeback into the Top 100, buoyed by a significant 70 percent price reduction on Steam.
Completing the Top Ten is the newly launched mech title, Gundam Breaker 4, which debuted on August 28th. The current Steam Top Ten for the week ending September 3rd is as follows:
- Black Myth: Wukong, Game Science
- Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, Activision (P)
- Counter-Strike 2, Valve
- Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, Saber Interactive (P)
- PUBG: Battlegrounds, Krafton
- Risk of Rain 2, Gearbox
- Steam Deck, Valve
- Risk of Rain: Seekers of the Storm, Gearbox
- Hogwarts Legacy, Warner Bros

The gaming landscape continues to evolve with each passing week, and these shifts in rankings reflect both consumer interest and strategic releases by developers. As we edge closer to the holiday season, it will be intriguing to see how these titles fare and what new contenders might emerge.
