Windows 11 Versions 21H2, 22H2 End Support on October 8, 2024

09 Jul 2024

As Windows 11 approaches its third birthday, Microsoft has issued a warning to users regarding the upcoming end of support for versions 21H2 and 22H2. With only 90 days remaining, these operating systems will soon stop receiving updates, security patches, and fixes.

It’s important to note that Windows 11 21H2 is already out of support for regular consumers, with updates only available for Enterprise, Education, and IoT Enterprise editions. Similarly, version 22H2 will no longer receive updates for Home and Pro editions.

End of Servicing Date

On October 8, 2024, Windows 11 versions 21H2 and 22H2 will reach end of servicing. The last update will be released on this date, after which devices running these editions will no longer receive monthly security updates.

The end of support for these versions also means that non-managed devices will be automatically updated to version 23H2 to remain in a supported state.

Automatic Updates for Business Devices

Windows Update will initiate a feature update for Windows 11 business devices nearing end of servicing to ensure continued support and security updates.

While version 23H2 is currently the latest release with support until November 11, 2025, Windows 11 version 24H2 is available on Copilot+ PCs but has not been officially added to the Windows Lifecycle documentation yet.
