The download symbol in the App Store usually indicates that you've previously downloaded the app. Unfortunately, there's no official way to remove this symbol directly from the App Store. It remains as part of your purchase history linked to your Apple ID. If you desperately need to remove it, you would need to contact Apple Support for further assistance, but there is no guarantee they can remove it for you.

To remove downloaded apps on an iPhone, press and hold the app icon until a menu appears or the icons start to jiggle. Tap the 'Remove App' option that appears on the menu, and then confirm by selecting 'Delete App.' Alternatively, you can go to Settings > General > iPhone Storage, find the app you want to delete, tap on it, and then select 'Delete App.' This will remove the app and its data from your iPhone.

To remove a downloaded profile from your iPhone, go to Settings > General > VPN & Device Management. Under the 'Configuration Profiles' section, find the profile you want to remove. Tap on the profile, then choose 'Remove Profile.' You may be prompted to enter your device passcode to confirm the removal. Once completed, the profile will be deleted from your device.

The process to remove downloads from your phone can vary based on the operating system. On iPhone, go to Files app > Browse > Downloads folder. Find the app you want to hide, swipe left on it, and select 'Hide.' While this won't delete the app from your purchase history, it will hide it from your list of purchased apps.
