Microsoft has initiated the force-installation of the Windows 11 2023 Update, also known as Windows 11 22H2, to eligible systems nearing their end-of-service date. This update, which began rolling out to Release Preview Insiders for enterprise testing in September, was released as an enablement package on October 31.
Automatic Updates for Eligible Devices
The tech giant announced that Windows 11, version 23H2, is now entering a new rollout phase. As part of this phase, eligible Windows 11 devices will be automatically updated to version 23H2. “This automatic update is targeted at Windows 11 devices that have reached or are approaching the end of servicing. It follows the machine learning-based (ML) training we have utilized thus far,” Microsoft stated.
The forced rollout phase was implemented after systems running multiple Windows 11 21H2 editions were automatically updated to Windows 11 22H2 before reaching the end of support on October 11.
