GetMail FAQ

Getmail is a mail retriever designed to retrieve emails from POP3, IMAP, and other mail servers. To use Getmail, create a configuration file in ~/.getmail/getmailrc. The configuration file should include sections for the [retriever] with server details, [destination] for where to deliver the mail, and [options] for additional settings. Invoke Getmail using the command: getmail -r <config_file>. Ensure Getmail is installed and configured properly on your system.

Arch Linux does not include Getmail by default. To install Getmail on an Arch system, use the following command: sudo pacman -S getmail. After installation, configure Getmail by creating a configuration file in ~/.getmail/getmailrc with the appropriate sections for [retriever], [destination], and [options]. Use the command getmail -r <config_file> to start retrieving emails. Ensure all necessary dependencies are installed and the configuration file is correctly set up for your specific email server.
