What’s New in the Remaster
The remastered edition promises to deliver the same beloved caprine antics, but with enhanced graphics and lighting that breathe new life into the gameplay. Coffee Stain humorously describes it as “the greatest simulation game known to man and goat,” complete with familiar features that fans have come to adore—alongside a few intentional quirks that are definitely not bugs.
While the visual upgrades are noteworthy, the remaster doesn’t overhaul the core gameplay significantly. The trailer cleverly introduces players to a fictional prison called Cash Grab Penitentiary, where a suited character navigates through the remaster’s ward. Among the colorful cast, players will encounter Pilgor, the iconic goat who has made a daring escape just in time for its remastered debut.
Enhanced Gameplay Features
One of the standout improvements in this remaster is the reworked mutator system. Gone are the days of restarting the game to switch up your goat’s appearance; players can now effortlessly select different “goats” through an in-game menu. This small yet impactful change enhances the overall user experience.
Additionally, the remaster opens the door to previously mobile-exclusive DLCs, including GoatVile, Goat MMO, and Buck to School. Each of these expansions introduces new maps, characters, and immersive adventures across fantastical landscapes. Among these, the Payday DLC stands out, allowing players to indulge in the hilarity of a goat on a heist, proving that the absurdity of the concept is as entertaining as it sounds.
While the remaster may not revolutionize the gaming landscape, it offers a nostalgic trip back to 2014, a time when players simply sought the joy of being a goat. Joal Rydholm, producer at Coffee Stain Publishing, captures this sentiment perfectly, inviting fans to relish in the delightful chaos that Goat Simulator has always provided.
