The New Downloads Section
The redesigned Microsoft Store now features a dedicated Downloads tab positioned conveniently in the left-hand sidebar, just above the familiar Library tab. This new section provides users with a comprehensive list of all apps installed on their Windows devices, encompassing both free and paid applications.
At the top right corner, a prominent Get Updates button allows for the simultaneous updating of all applications. For those who prefer a more tailored approach, each app listing includes a three-dot menu, enabling users to update individual applications at their discretion.
This three-dot menu is a treasure trove of options, offering functionalities such as:
- Sharing the app with others
- Writing reviews
- Rating the app
- Pinning it to the taskbar
- Accessing the app’s release notes
The Changed Library Section
In the revamped Library tab, users can now view all installed applications alongside those purchased but not currently on their system. This section is designed not for updates, but rather to provide a holistic overview of all applications in a user-friendly manner.
Each app entry displays the installation date, and users can switch between various overviews—whether they wish to see all apps, filter for games, or focus on films. Sorting options by date or name are available, along with a search field to streamline navigation.
This thoughtful division between the Downloads and Library sections within the Microsoft Store simplifies the process of tracking installed applications, enhancing overall user satisfaction and efficiency.
