Google Essentials: A New Era for HP Users
According to Google director Ashish Pimplapure, “Today, we’re introducing Google Essentials, a new app that makes it easier for you to discover and install many of our best Google services — including Google Play Games — when setting up a new PC.” This application will initially be available across a range of HP’s Windows consumer and gaming brands, including Spectre, Envy, Pavilion, OMEN, Victus, and HP Brand, with plans to extend to all OmniBook brands shortly. Users will have the convenience of accessing Google Essentials directly from the start menu, allowing seamless transitions between their phone and laptop.
Windows Intelligence In Your Inbox
For those eager to enhance their productivity, signing up for a new free newsletter offers three time-saving tips each Friday, along with complimentary copies of Paul Thurrott’s Windows 11 and Windows 10 Field Guides, typically priced at .99, as a special welcome gift.
Google Essentials is designed to streamline user experience by providing quick access to essential services such as Google Photos, Google Messages, Google Docs, Google Drive, and Google Calendar via the web. Additionally, eligible Google One subscribers will enjoy a complimentary two-month trial of Google One 100 GB storage.
As is customary with bundled software on new PCs, users retain the option to uninstall Google Essentials at their discretion. Google has indicated that it plans to expand the availability of this app to additional laptops and desktops in the months ahead, leaving many curious about the potential developments on the horizon.
