To make Thunderbird Portable your default email client, first ensure it is installed on a portable drive. Next, open Thunderbird Portable, go to 'Options' > 'General' > 'Make Thunderbird the Default'. If this step doesn't work, manually change the default email client in your operating system settings. For Windows: Go to 'Settings' > 'Apps' > 'Default Apps' and select Thunderbird Portable under 'Email'. Ensure the portable drive is always connected when you want to use Thunderbird Portable.

If Thunderbird Portable does not start, try these steps: Ensure that the portable drive is properly connected. Check that the path to the executable file is correct and has not changed.
