Xbox Cloud Gaming Expands to Fire TV Devices
Xbox Cloud Gaming is set to make its way to Fire TV devices, enhancing the gaming experience for Fire TV users who are also gamers. While Luna, Amazon’s cloud gaming service, was already available on some Fire TV devices, Xbox Cloud Gaming offers a different approach that may appeal to a wider audience.
Both Luna and Xbox Cloud Gaming allow users to play games over an internet connection instead of downloading them locally. However, the two services differ in their subscription models. Luna requires users to subscribe to specific channels or purchase games from select stores, while Xbox Cloud Gaming is accessible through Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, offering a wide range of games for a single subscription fee.
With Xbox Cloud Gaming now compatible with Fire TV devices, gamers can enjoy their favorite titles on the go. The initial launch will support the Fire TV 4K Stick Max and the Fire TV Stick 4K, making gaming more accessible to a broader audience.
Device Compatibility and Pricing
The limited device compatibility may be a drawback for some users, as only two Fire TV devices will initially support the Xbox app. However, both the Fire TV Stick 4K Max and the Fire TV Stick 4K are reasonably priced, making them accessible options for gamers looking to enhance their gaming experience.
With the portability of the Fire TV Stick, gamers can easily move between different TVs or even stream games from a hotel room TV, provided there is an internet connection available. Additionally, a compatible Bluetooth controller is required to play games on the Fire TV devices.
Availability in July
While the announcement of Xbox Cloud Gaming coming to Fire TV devices is exciting, users will have to wait until July for the Xbox app to become available. Microsoft has confirmed that the app will be released next month, giving gamers a few more days to prepare for the enhanced gaming experience on their Fire TV devices.
