The annual speed running charity event, Summer Games Done Quick, has once again exceeded expectations by raising over $2.5 million for charity. This year, the organization was able to raise an impressive $2,546,290 for Doctors Without Borders, a humanitarian organization providing medical aid to those in need around the world.

Since its inception 14 years ago, Games Done Quick has raised a total of $46.7 million for various charities, showcasing the generosity and support of the gaming community.

Memorable Moments and Games

Some of the notable games played at this year’s event included a heartwarming moment with a dog named Peanut Butter playing Ken Griffey Jr. Presents Major League Baseball, along with thrilling speed runs of Alan Wake 2, Sunset Riders, Halo 3, Old School RuneScape, Elden Ring, and Minecraft Dungeons.

In a message on Twitter, Games Done Quick expressed their gratitude, saying, “Thank you to everyone who made this marathon possible, and to all of you for your amazing generosity & support. See you all next time.”

Looking Ahead

The next Games Done Quick event, Flame Fatales, is scheduled to take place between August 18th and 25th, promising more exciting speed runs and fundraising efforts for a good cause.
