AMD has recently rolled out a new chipset driver, version 6.05.28.016, for customers using supported motherboards and operating systems. This latest update comes with various under-the-hood improvements, although the official release notes are not yet available as the link currently leads to a 404 error page.

Despite the download page still showing version 6.02.07.2300 as the most recent, clicking the download link will actually get you the new version, 6.05.28.016. We will keep you updated on any new information about this driver as soon as it becomes available. In the meantime, here are some of the new components included in this release:

  • AMD GPIO Driver – 2.2.0.133 (previous version 2.2.0.130)
  • AMD GPIO Driver (for Promontory) – 3.0.1.0 (previous version 3.0.0.0)
  • AMD SMBus Driver – 5.12.0.44 (previous version 5.12.0.38)

If you are looking to download driver version 6.02.07.2300, you can do so from the official website. However, we recommend waiting for more details from AMD before updating such a critical software component in your system.
