Last week, the gaming landscape on Steam witnessed a notable surge in pre-orders for the highly anticipated action RPG, Black Myth: Wukong. This title ascended five spots to secure the No. 2 position, fueled by an array of previews and the unveiling of its final launch trailer. Scheduled for release on August 20th, this game has captured the attention of many eager players.
Steam’s Top Sellers
Maintaining its dominance, Counter-Strike 2 once again claimed the top spot as the biggest seller on Steam. Meanwhile, the ever-popular free-to-play shooter, PUBG: Battlegrounds, held firm in third place. Valve’s stronghold on the rankings continued with the Steam Deck and Dota 2 securing the fourth and fifth positions, respectively, both remaining steady week-on-week.
In a shift within the rankings, The First Descendant from Nexon slipped from second to sixth place, while Elden Ring climbed one position to No. 7. The resurgence of Apex Legends, EA’s free-to-play battle royale, back into the Top Ten at eighth can be attributed to the launch of a new season of content.
Additionally, pre-orders for Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 experienced a remarkable leap from No. 54 to No. 9, driven by a wave of positive previews. This grim sci-fi shooter is set to launch on September 9th. Rounding out the Top Ten, pre-orders for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 secured the final spot, showcasing the ongoing excitement surrounding this franchise.
