Boosteroid, a prominent cloud gaming platform, has made significant strides in expanding access to high-end video games across a variety of devices, including PCs, laptops, tablets, Android TVs, and smartphones. In a notable development this year, Microsoft entered into a partnership with Boosteroid, enabling users to enjoy PC games purchased through popular platforms such as Steam and the Epic Games Store.
As part of this collaboration, Boosteroid members gained access to a selection of titles from the Microsoft Store on Windows, as well as games available through a Game Pass membership. Noteworthy titles like Deathloop, Dishonored, Dishonored 2, Dishonored: Death of The Outsider, Gears 5, Gears Tactics, Ghostwire: Tokyo, and Pentiment are now accessible, complete with cross-play and cross-save functionalities.
Mercedes-Benz Partners with Boosteroid for In-Car Gaming
In an exciting new venture, Mercedes-Benz has announced a partnership with Boosteroid to enhance the in-car entertainment experience. Starting next year, the Boosteroid app will be integrated into the MBUX Entertainment Package Plus for vehicles equipped with the third-generation MBUX infotainment system.
This innovative collaboration will allow Mercedes-Benz owners to immerse themselves in over 1,000 high-quality gaming titles, including popular games like Fortnite and Sea of Thieves, right from the comfort of their vehicles. With Microsoft’s commitment to expanding its catalog of PC games on Boosteroid, car owners can anticipate an even broader selection of titles upon the app’s launch in Mercedes-Benz cars.
In addition to Microsoft’s offerings, the Boosteroid platform will also feature games from the Epic Games Store, Ubisoft, and other renowned developers.
Magnus Östberg, Chief Software Officer at Mercedes-Benz AG, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, stating:
“Together with Boosteroid, we’re offering an even more attractive in-car gaming experience for Mercedes-Benz vehicles. The cloud-based approach to gaming is the ideal way to bring triple-A gaming to our customers and gaming fans alike. It’s a clear demonstration of how we’re further developing MBUX to cater to our customers’ expectations. That’s why we’re excited to be here at gamescom, joining our long-time esports partner, SK Gaming, which is one of the best-known names in competitive gaming.”
The Boosteroid cloud gaming app is set to launch in the in-car App Store across Europe and North and South America in 2025. To ensure safety, gaming will only be accessible while the vehicle is parked, and users will need to connect their Bluetooth gaming controller or mobile phone. Attendees at this year’s Gamescom have the opportunity to experience this cutting-edge in-car gaming feature firsthand in a Mercedes-Benz E-Class.
