Change is on the horizon for fans of the popular extraction shooter, Hunt: Showdown. A major update is set to launch in August, bringing with it a host of new features and improvements that promise to elevate the gaming experience to new heights.
Introducing Mammon's Gulch
The highlight of the update is the introduction of a brand new map called Mammon’s Gulch, set in the dusty Colorado mountains. This kilometer-wide map is the first of its kind in three years and marks the beginning of a new era for the game, now known as Hunt: Showdown 1896.
Transition to CryEngine 5.11
One of the most significant changes in the update is the transition to CryEngine 5.11, a long-awaited upgrade that promises to enhance the game’s visuals and introduce new graphical options such as HDR support, DirectX 12, FSR, and DLSS. While the minimum PC specs for the game will increase slightly, older hardware will still be supported, and last-gen console versions will be discontinued.
Visual and Audio Enhancements
The update will also bring improvements to existing maps, progression, and cosmetics, with updated lighting models and water shaders to enhance the overall visual experience. Additionally, players can expect changes to the audio system, UI, perks, weapons, challenges, and hunter recruitment and classification.
With Mammon’s Gulch at the heart of the update, Hunt: Showdown 1896 promises to deliver a refreshed and enhanced gaming experience for both new and existing players. Stay tuned for more updates leading up to the release on August 15.
