A website dedicated to the new Kaiju No. 8 project recently concluded its countdown with the release of the first official trailer. The trailer, which coincided with the conclusion of the 10th episode of the Kaiju No. 8 anime, revealed that the new project is a game designed for smartphones and PC.
Akatsuki Games is currently developing and preparing to launch the game, tentatively titled Kaiju No. 8 THE GAME. The game will be accessible through Apple’s App Store, Google Play, and Steam.

The Anime's Stellar Line-Up
The Kaiju No. 8 anime made its debut on TV Tokyo on April 13. Crunchyroll is streaming the anime with English subtitles and also offers an English dub. The anime is available for streaming on X (formerly Twitter) worldwide in real-time as it airs in Japan.
Shigeyuki Miya, known for Onihei, is directing the anime, while Ichiro Okouchi, the mastermind behind Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion, is handling the series composition and screenplay. Tetsuya Nishio, the character designer for Naruto, serves as the chief animation director. Mahiro Maeda, known for Shin Godzilla, is responsible for designing the monsters, and Shinji Kimura, recognized for Tekkonkinkreet, is the art director. Yuta Bando, from BELLE, is composing the music.
Production I.G, famous for Ghost in the Shell, is overseeing the animation production, while Studio Khara, known for Rebuild of Evangelion, is in charge of the kaiju designs and artworks. British singer YUNGBLUD performs the anime’s opening theme song “Abyss,” and American pop rock group OneRepublic sings the ending theme song “Nobody.”
The Manga's Global Reach
Viz Media has acquired the rights to the manga and releases chapters both digitally and physically. Shueisha publishes the manga on its MANGA Plus service under the title Monster #8, with the following description: “A man working a job far removed from his childhood dreams gets wrapped up in an unexpected situation…! Becoming a monster, he aims once again to fulfill his lifelong dream…!” The ongoing manga, created by Matsumoto, premiered in July 2020 on Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ website.
