The latest free offerings from the Epic Games Store have arrived, and while this may not be the strongest month on record, it's hard to turn your nose up when you don't have to part with a single penny.
This time around, PC users can nab Redout 2 and an item pack for Idle Champions of the Forgotten Realms.
Idle Champions of the Forgotten Realms: A Hidden Gem
Let's start with the latter of these two offerings, as the item pack is a far better deal than it appears to be on the surface. If you're not familiar with Idle Champions of the Forgotten Realms, it's essentially a Dungeons & Dragons strategy game. It's totally free to play, but if you log in to the title from now until Thursday, June 20, you'll bag yourself the Duke Ravengard’s Champions of Renown Pack, which has a worth of over $100. See? I told you it was a good deal.
The pack is an Epic Games exclusive and unlocks five champions—Thellora, Briv, Farideh, Duke Ravengard, and Wyll—in addition to an exclusive skin, exclusive familiar, 16 Gold Thellora Chests with two guaranteed Shiny equipment cards, 16 Gold Briv Chests with two guaranteed Shiny equipment cards, 16 Gold Farideh Chests with two guaranteed Shiny equipment cards, 16 Gold Duke Ravengard Chests with two guaranteed Shiny equipment cards, 16 Gold Wyll Chests with two guaranteed Shiny equipment cards, in addition to one Potion of the Gem Hunter and one Potion of the Gold Hunter. Phew. That was a lot to get through.
ICYMI: LEGO Horizon Adventures will land on PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC later this year.
Redout 2: A High-Speed Thrill Ride
If that first freebie isn’t for you, you can also download Redout 2, which typically retails for £16.49. Developed by 34BigThings, this one’s a “tribute to classic arcade racing games,” where players will speed through a series of dystopian wastelands. “Reach impossible speeds in exhilarating futuristic races across an extensive single-player campaign and competitive multiplayer. Deep control systems, robust hovership customization, and a killer soundtrack make Redout 2 the premier anti-gravity racer,” the synopsis teases. It boasts a respectable score of 78 over on Metacritic, so that’s worth keeping in mind.
You can grab both freebies from the Epic Games Store right now.
