Microsoft’s Game Pass PC has been steadily expanding its library of PC games, but some areas still need improvement, as evidenced by the recent release of Still Wakes the Deep.

Missing Features and Technical Limitations

The Chinese Room’s survival horror game launched on Game Pass PC with missing features like NVIDIA DLSS and AMD FSR, which are available on other platforms such as Steam and the Epic Games Store. This isn’t the first time this has happened; games like The Ascent and Remnant II also faced similar issues.

Interestingly, The Chinese Room provided a detailed explanation on the Steam community forums, citing technical limitations due to differences in how the Game Pass version is built compared to Steam and Epic Store versions. These technical limitations have led to a disparity in feature availability across platforms.

Upcoming Update and Fixes

The studio has now announced that an update scheduled for July will add NVIDIA DLSS to the Game Pass PC version of Still Wakes the Deep, along with fixes for various bugs and issues such as crashes, performance bugs, and settings reverting to default status.

Additionally, the developers are looking into adding AMD FSR and have promised to update the community once a decision has been made. The commitment to addressing these issues demonstrates a proactive approach to improving the user experience on Game Pass PC.
