Balatro Makes Its Mobile Debut
Developer LocalThunk and publisher Playstack have recently announced that the popular indie roguelike game Balatro will be making its way to mobile devices. The game is set to be released on September 26 for iOS via the App Store and Android via Google Play, priced at $4.99.
The mobile version of Balatro will also be available on Apple Arcade, with remastered controls designed specifically for touch screens to enhance the gaming experience.
A Phenomenal Success Story
Since its initial release in February, Balatro has exceeded all expectations, selling over 250,000 copies in its first three days on the market and reaching over one million copies sold within the first month. To date, the game has sold more than two million copies worldwide.
Innovative Gameplay Mechanics
The game’s unique gameplay involves creating strong poker hands to defeat the Boss Blinds, with over 150 unique Joker cards available to help players create powerful combos. In April, Balatro received its first major update, introducing new mechanics to enhance gameplay.
