Dragon Mania Legends, the hit collectible dragon game, is debuting a new Green Game Jam event. There’s also the return of their “We Could Be Heroes” event to promote inclusivity and diversity. The events start this month!
Green Game Jam: A Sustainable Initiative
If you’ve been following our news coverage for the past few weeks, you may have noticed more than a few developers and studios announcing new events as part of Playing for the Planet’s Green Game Jam. This event is intended to encourage players to make sustainable, aware choices. And the latest to throw their hat in the ring is the team behind Gameloft’s Dragon Mania Legends!
Dragon Mania Legends sees players hop into the world of Dragolandia where they can breed, hatch, and train dragons. As you might have expected, or already know, this is quite a family-friendly game with a lot of younger players, so it’s no surprise the Green Game Jam is a choice to help educate these kinds of users.
Two Campaigns, One Goal
The team behind Dragon Mania Legends will run two separate campaigns. One focuses on sustainable battery recycling for the Green Game Jam. The other is a contest to encourage players to design their own parasport-focused dragon as part of the game’s We Could Be Heroes event that seeks to champion inclusivity and diversity.
Admittedly, this isn’t exactly groundbreaking, introspective stuff, but it’s nice to see a studio put time aside to bring events like this to their game. Thanks to the wide reach of mobile, it’s a great way to reach out to people across the world, in a variety of situations, to promote these worthy causes.
