While it may have fallen between the cracks for some people, the Epic Games Store news also comes alongside another big announcement. Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout is out now on mobile! And despite what we initially thought, it’s not an Epic Games Store exclusive.
I actually briefly looked through the news, noted Fall Guys’ release and assumed Epic Games was leveraging its exclusivity to their benefit. But for those of you not wanting to download the new Epic Games Store for mobile, don’t fret, because Epic are also bringing it to other alternative app stores, starting with AltStore PAL.
Falling Far
It’s a big move and removes what I thought would be the major stumbling block of only having Fall Guys on a single storefront, compared to chief mobile competitor Stumble Guys’ more widespread release. Still, Fall Guys’ success on mobile could be a real litmus test for how Epic Games, and other alternative app stores, will perform with the average player.
Well, at long last it’s here, but it raises a lot of questions about Epic Games’ business strategy. Could they have got Fall Guys onto mobile sooner if they hadn’t waited for this big launch? Will its exclusivity help Epic Games and other alternative stores? And just what are the Fall Guys? These are all big questions, but we know now that Sweeney has gotten what he’s wanted for so long.
