After a brief hiatus, Hamster and SNK have returned with the latest addition to the ACA NeoGeo series on mobile platforms. Although it slipped under the radar initially, the exceptional Garou: Mark of the Wolves has now made its way to iOS and Android, following in the footsteps of Metal Slug X. For those interested, Shaun’s review of Metal Slug X can be found here.
A Classic Reimagined for Mobile
Garou: Mark of the Wolves is now available on mobile, complete with Hamster’s signature enhancements, including controller support. If you plan to use a controller, remember to configure it from the title screen. This was necessary for my Backbone One PlayStation Edition.
Originally debuting in 1999, Garou: Mark of the Wolves stands as one of SNK’s finest creations. Over the years, I’ve purchased it on multiple platforms including PS Vita, PC, PS4, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox. Now, I’m thrilled to add yet another version to my collection on both my phone and iPad. You can watch the trailer for Garou: Mark of the Wolves ACA NeoGeo from its console release below:
The game is available for purchase on the App Store for iOS here and on Google Play for Android here. As with previous mobile releases, this version is priced at half of its console counterpart, costing just $3.99. If you’re unsure whether this game is for you, consider checking out one of the titles Shaun recommended in his best games list. For those unfamiliar with SNK re-releases from Hamster, Shaun’s article covering the 10 best games in the series on mobile can be found here. This list will likely be updated soon to include this stellar addition.
