Reliance Jio is enhancing the viewing experience for its subscribers by introducing the JioTV+ app, now available on Android, Apple, and various TVs powered by Amazon’s Fire OS. Previously, this app was confined to the Jio set-top box (STB) that accompanied Jio Fiber and Jio Air Fiber connections. With this new development, subscribers can now enjoy over 800 digital TV channels spanning multiple languages and genres through a single login on the JioTV+ app.
JioTV+ App Now Available on Android TV, Apple TV and Amazon Fire OS
In a recent press release, Reliance Jio announced the widespread availability of its JioTV+ streaming app across all major smart TV platforms. The app boasts a unified login for various over-the-top (OTT) applications, modern navigation guides, compatibility with smart remotes, and personalized content recommendations. Users can effortlessly browse through an extensive library of content by utilizing language and category filters.
The JioTV+ app provides access to a diverse array of 800 digital TV channels, covering categories such as news, entertainment, sports, music, kids, business, and devotional content. Subscribers of Jio Fiber and Jio Air Fiber can also enjoy content from 13 popular OTT platforms, including JioCinema Premium, Disney+ Hotstar, Sony Liv, Zee5, and FanCode. Additionally, the app features a dedicated section for children, offering specially curated content tailored to young viewers.
To download the JioTV+ app, users can visit the Google Play Store for Android TV devices or follow similar steps to obtain the app for Apple TV and Amazon Fire OS-powered TVs.
JioTV+ App Eligibility
However, not all Jio Fiber and Jio Air Fiber subscribers will have access to this new app. It is exclusively available for users subscribed to specific eligible plans:
- JioAirFiber: all plans
- JioFiber Postpaid: Rs. 599, Rs. 899 and above
- JioFiber Prepaid: Rs. 999 and above
According to Reliance Jio, the JioTV+ app can be downloaded on Android TV, Apple TV, and Amazon Firestick TV, with support for LG OS-powered TVs expected to follow shortly. However, users with Samsung TVs that do not operate on Android TV will find the app unavailable, as it is not compatible with Samsung’s operating system. For those without a smart TV, acquiring an STB as an add-on remains the only option to access the app.
