A change in Google's Firebase Cloud Messaging system will impact the way Android users receive push notifications from the WIS app. Android users may have recently stopped receiving the push alerts, but this update is supposed to resolve that.
What Users Need to Do
All users need to do after the update is to open the app on their Android device to re-register it with our push provider to start receiving notifications again. The change will happen by June 20, but WIS’ parent company, Gray Television, said it could happen sooner on the week of June 10.
