After successfully launching the Llama 3-powered Meta AI in various countries, the Facebook parent company is now bringing this innovative model to India. Available in English, users will have the opportunity to utilize Meta AI across popular Meta apps including WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook, and Messenger. This exciting development was announced at Connect 2023.

Enhanced Capabilities of Llama 3

With the enhanced capabilities of Llama 3, users can now leverage Meta AI for a variety of tasks such as text and image generation. From suggesting travel destinations to creating multiple-choice tests and generating images for virtual furniture sets, the possibilities are endless. The AI assistant will also be integrated into the Facebook feed, allowing users to seek additional information about posts.

On Instagram, Meta AI can recommend Reels to users, while on WhatsApp, individuals can access the AI model in group chats as well as individual conversations, albeit with limited contextual understanding. In addition to text-based interactions, users can generate images by simply adding ‘imagine’ before their prompts and even animate the resulting output.

“Found an image you love? Ask Meta AI to animate it or collaborate with friends to iterate on the image by changing the prompt,” Meta explained during the introduction of the text-to-image generation tool. Furthermore, Meta AI will be accessible on meta.ai, where users can summon the AI assistant for a wide range of tasks including answering queries, text summarization, proofreading, editing, translation, and more.

Real-Time Search Results

Meta AI has the capability to provide real-time search results from Google and Microsoft Bing. The company had been testing Meta AI with select users on its social media platforms back in April, with the delayed release potentially attributed to the general elections in India. This launch follows the recent introduction of the Google Gemini app in nine Indian languages.
