Meta, owned by Mark Zuckerberg, has introduced its own artificial intelligence chatbot, Meta AI, in India. The chatbot is now accessible on WhatsApp, Facebook, Messenger, and Instagram. Developed with Meta Llama 3, the company’s most advanced LLM, Meta AI aims to enhance user experience across the platform.
Users can utilize Meta AI within feeds, chats, and more on various apps to accomplish tasks, create content, and explore topics without leaving the app. To access Meta AI, simply search for anything while using Facebook Messenger, Facebook, Instagram, or WhatsApp. In group chats, users can type “@meta AI” to seek recommendations, information, and ideas.

- Open your Instagram account
- Tap or in the top right of Feed
- Tap in the top right
- Tap Create an AI chat
- Tap Meta AI
- Enter a message, tap a message prompt, or tap to explore more of what Meta AI can do
- Tap Send
How To Use Meta AI In WhatsApp
- Open WhatsApp on your phone
- Ask questions to Meta AI in group chats by mentioning “@Meta AI”
- Meta AI can read and reply to group chat questions only
- It cannot access personal messages or calls due to end-to-end encryption
- To ask questions to Meta AI on WhatsApp, open the desired group, type “@” in the message field, and tap on “Meta AI”
- Type your prompt and view the AI response in the chat
- To reply to Meta AI, swipe right on the AI message and type your response
Additionally, users can visit www.meta.ai in their browser, click on Ask Meta AI at the bottom of the page, type in a question, and wait for an answer. Logging in with a Facebook account is optional, allowing users to access www.meta.ai without logging in. Meta AI may take a moment to generate a response.
