Nekki, the creative force behind the acclaimed Shadow Fight series, is delighted to announce the re-launch of Shadow Fight 3 in China, in partnership with Wanda Cinema Games. This event marks a significant milestone as the game returns to one of the world’s largest gaming markets, where dedicated fans have eagerly awaited its return.
Since its initial release in November 2017, Shadow Fight 3 has captivated over 230 million players worldwide. The game had already established a strong foothold in China, where Shadow Fight 2 had laid the groundwork for its success. By 2021, China accounted for 25% of the game’s total iOS downloads, making it the top market on the App Store.
A Milestone Achievement
In August 2023, after persistent efforts from Nekki and its Chinese partners, Shadow Fight 3 was granted an ISBN license by China’s State Administration of Press and Publication (SAPP)—a rare achievement, with only 98 foreign games licensed that year. The re-launch has been highly anticipated, with over 1.6 million pre-registrations already.
Strategic Partnership
Partnering with Wanda Cinema Games, a leader in Chinese entertainment and game publishing since 2011, Shadow Fight 3 is set to offer a fully localized experience for Chinese players. Wanda Cinema Games will leverage its extensive user base, movie media, and advertising resources to create a dynamic entertainment ecosystem that enhances both game and movie promotions.
