Electronic Arts has released patch 1.3.0 for Plants vs. Zombies: Replanted, restoring the dynamic audio feature that was missing in the initial release. This addresses one of the major criticisms from players.
Patch Details and Fixes
The patch reintroduces dynamic audio, allowing the game’s music to adjust instrumentally and intensity-wise with on-screen events, recreating the original game's experience. This marks a significant improvement from the previous constant high-intensity soundtrack. Additional updates in patch 1.3.0 include:
- Correct music now plays in Minigame, Puzzle, Survival, and Almanac menus.
- Sound effects no longer clash with menu music at high speeds.
- Enhanced audio effects for collecting sun.
The patch also fixes various gameplay and interface elements, such as Retro Zombies' movement, Vsync's impact on mouse cursor speed, and controller tooltips during Vs Mode. Changes to visual elements include correcting Magnet-Shroom behavior and ensuring all 10 slots show on the Conveyor Belt.
Upcoming Update Insights
EA announced that patch 1.4.0 is set to release within two weeks. This upcoming update will introduce a controller shortcut for collecting sun by squeezing a trigger and aims to address additional bugs reported by the community. Despite improvements, players highlight remaining issues with achievements, online co-op, and smaller bugs.
The community expressed satisfaction with the return of dynamic audio, while EA acknowledges its focus on delivering further quality-of-life improvements in future updates.
